ANDOVER – The Andover Town Office has announced new hours. They are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Sign-ups for fair

RUMFORD – Community Concepts Adult Day Services is accepting sign-up sheets for crafters for its craft and food fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the Muskie Building community room on Congress Street. Acceptable items include crafts and yard sale items.

The cost per table is $7.50 for Muskie building residents and $10 for the general public. Participants are being encouraged to bring their own tables. Lunch will be available. ‘Punt, Pass & Kick’

RUMFORD – The Rumford Elks and Rumford Parks will host an NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Saturday, Sept. 27. It is free and open to boys and girls ages 8-15. It will be at Hosmer Field. Registration is 9 to 10 a.m. All competitors must bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. Competition will start with the 8- to 9-year-olds and 10- to 11-year-olds at 10 a.m. followed by the 12-13 and 14-15 age groups.

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and placekicking. Scores are based on distance and accuracy. The age classifications are based on birthdays as of Dec. 31, 2003. The top finishers from each of the eight age groups will advance to a sectional competition. The top five scorers from the pool of sectional champions advance to a New England Patriots home game in December.

Barbecue planned

RUMFORD – A chicken barbecue sponsored by the Star Club will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Blazing Star Lodge, Route 232. Menu will include chicken, mashed potatoes, beans, cole slaw, rolls and homemade pies. The cost for adults will be $6, and for children, $3. Expo on tap

RUMFORD – The River Valley Expo will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27, at the Mountain Valley High School, 799 Hancock St. There will be over 150 exhibits. On Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. businesses will have the opportunity to network with other businesses. Business identification will be needed for admission on Friday. The Expo is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with no admission fee.
