LEWISTON – Evelyn L. Peterson of Auburn went home to the Lord, Sunday, Sept. 21, at Marshwood Center for Health Care after a long illness.

She was born in Auburn, the daughter of Paul and Amanda Hilden and was educated in Auburn schools and Pierre’s Beauty School in Portland.

“Lynn” had a passion for ballroom dancing and was a dance instructor in Portland in the 1950’s, receiving her instruction with the Arthur Murray Studios.

She is survived by a son, David T. Peterson Jr. of Rockland; and her schnauzer companion, “WeeWee”; three sisters, Lillian Auchtorlonie of Hudson, N.H., Taina Deighan of Glen St. Mary, Fla., and Rose DeWolfe of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a brother, Veido Hilden of Lima, Ohio.

She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Oni and Raymond Hilden.
