MECHANIC FALLS – Tyrian Lodge 73, AF and AM, 474 South Main St., will work the Master Mason Degree at a special communication on Thursday, Sept. 25.
A lasagna supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the lodge opening and degree at 7:30. All Master Masons are welcome.
Boules tourney
BLUE HILL – People all over the world play the game of petanque, or boules, the French version of bocce, curling or lawn bowling. Blue Hill will be the site of the Federation of Petanque USA Northeast Regional Triples Championship on Oct. 5.
Hosted by the Maine Boules Club, the tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Piper Square in downtown Blue Hill. Twelve teams will compete.
Although only current members of the federation are eligible to compete, the boules club welcomes spectators.
