Dear Sun Spots: Some time ago I watched a TV show from Maine. The man was cooking chicken wings in the oven using maple syrup. I had the recipe, and it was very good. I have misplaced the receipe and was wondering if you might be able to find it for me. I love to read Sun Spots every morning. Thank you. – S.R., Lisbon.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, you don’t state what show it might have been or the gentleman’s name, which would assist Sun Spots in her search. In the meantime, perhaps you and your family will enjoy the following recipe:

Maple Glazed Chicken Wings, Ingredients: 2 pounds chicken wing sections, thawed; ½ cup butter or margarine, melted; ½ cup dark amber maple syrup. Method: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine melted butter and maple syrup. Spread wings in single layer on cookie sheet. Bake 5 minutes, then baste with syrup/butter mixture. Bake 10 minutes more, baste and turn with spatula. Baste and bake 10 minutes more. Then baste again and bake 5 minutes longer, or until browned.

Maple Syrup Chicken Wings, Ingredients: 2 to 3 pounds chicken wings, salt, pepper and paprika. Method: Clean and dry chicken wings. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Place in a shallow baking dish, lightly greased. Sauce: ½ cup maple syrup, ¼ cup soy sauce, 4 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 garlic clove, crushed, and ¼ cup ketchup. Method: Mix sauce ingredients and pour over wings. Bake uncovered at 325 Fahrenheit, basting every 15 to 20 minutes, for 1 to 1½ hours, until tender.
