1928 – 2003

BRUNSWICK – Sylvia Ann Marr, 73, of Brunswick, formerly of Wilton, died Saturday, Sept. 20, at her home.

She was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Randolph, a daughter of Frank Baird and Marie Elizabeth (Furlotte) Dingley. She received her education at the Maine School for the Deaf in Portland. On May 23, 1953, she married Milton Marr in Brunswick. Mr. Marr died July 25, 2000.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed at Forster Mfg. Co. in Wilton for many years. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Farmington and enjoyed reading, learning about history and studying geneology. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by a son, Milton Marr Jr., and his wife, Susan of Cedar Springs, Mich.; two daughters, Maurita E. Marr of Harpswell and Melinda A. Tibbetts of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Nathan R.B. Marr, Michael A. Marr and Karyn E. Tibbetts; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Mortimer G. Marr; and a sister, Lucinda Swallow.
