1921 – 2003

READFIELD – Everett W. Mace, 81, died at his home on Mace Cottages Road, Readfield on Sept. 23.

He was born in Readfield, Oct. 28, 1921, the only child of Roy E. and Alice (Marston) Mace.

He worked in the lumber and cattle business most of his life. He also had the snow plowing contract for the town of Readfield for many years. He took great pride in and care of his beef cattle and also enjoyed fishing, especially going to Chebougamau in Canada.

He is survived by two sons, William (Bill) Mace and his wife Lynn of Readfield and Ervin E. Mace of East Winthrop; two grandsons, Larry W. Mace and his companion Deb Lord, Peter E. Mace and his wife Lisa, two great-grandchildren, Nicole A. Mace and David W. Mace all of Readfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russell and Florence Smith, and sister-in-law, Ellen Smith all of Standish; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Luce Mace on April 19, 2002.
