1945 – 2003

LEWISTON – Janie S. Patton, 58, of 16 Laase Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Central Maine Medical Center, following a long illness.

Born in Marlow, Okla., on Sept. 5, 1945, she was the daughter of Franklin and Quannah Johnson Cook. Educated in Oklahoma schools, she was married to William B. Patton on April 5, 1974. Mr. Patton passed away on Dec. 28, 2001.

A member of East Auburn Baptist Church, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, writing poetry, and loved to go fishing with her family.

Survivors include a son, Vance and wife Kelly Chung of Lewiston; two daughters, Kathryn and husband William Violette of Kailua, Hawaii, and Pamela and husband Scott Bodlovick of Windham; a special friend who was like a daughter to her, Wendy and husband Robert Rivas of Auburn, and their two children, Shannon Lee and Amanda Rae Rivas of Auburn; two brothers, Harold and wife Joanie Cook and Kenneth and wife Doris Cook, all of Duncan, Okla.; a sister, Kathryn and husband Clarence Milburn of Mustang, Okla.; and six grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Bodlovick, Blake, Cassandra, and Abigail Chung, Courtney Violette.
