LISBON FALLS – Bernard Bucci has donated a 1993 Saab 9000 Aero to benefit the Lisbon libraries.
The town of Lisbon, on behalf of the Friends of the Lisbon Libraries, will accept sealed bids for the vehicle until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Minimum bid accepted is $3,500, cash or bank check, due within five days of bid acceptance. Bids can be sent to Curtis H. Lunt, town manager, 300 Lisbon St., Lisbon, ME 04250.
The white four-door sedan has heated leather seats, a moon roof and air conditioning. Mileage is 126,000. For more information, contact the Lisbon Town Office at 353-3000, extension 102. The car can be seen at the Lisbon Town Office.
After the success of the Children’s Room project, due in large part to Stephen and Tabitha King’s donation of $80,000, the Friends plan renovation of the adult reading area and main circulation desk at the Lisbon Falls Library.
The removal of the current window seat and the addition of new furniture for the reading and circulation area and staff work stations lead the way for the changes for which the Friends are fund raising.
Their efforts will continue at Oktoberfest, Saturday, Oct. 3, on Ridge Road in Lisbon where homemade apple pies and handcrafted items will be on sale.
