1912 – 2003
YARMOUTH – Lawrence Gauthier, 90, of 5 Northwood Road, died at his residence Wednesday, Sept. 24. Born in Rumford, Nov. 6, 1912, a son of Louis and Marie St. Pierre Gauthier. He graduated from Stephens High School.
Mr. Gauthier was a member of St. Athanasius and St. John Parish and was married to the former Geneva McKay on Dec. 31, 1935.
He worked as a State Trooper for 32 years retiring in 1974. He was awarded the 1st Legendary Trooper Award, and was a member of the Waterville Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by a daughter, Suzie Gauthier of Yarmouth; a son, Lawrence W. (Bill) Gauthier of Vernon, Texas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean (DeDe) Daughty; a son, George Edmond; three grandsons, Michael L. Gauthier, Glenn A. Estabrook Jr., and Ralph (Rick) Doughty.
