CASCO – Kevin D. Hancock, president of Hancock Lumber Co. Inc., has been named Lumber Dealer of the Year for 2003 by the Retail Lumber Dealers’ Association of Maine.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins presented the award to the association’s annual meeting at the Samoset Resort in Rockland on Sept.. 6.
The award is given annually to a member of the association who has positively impacted both the association and the industry through leadership and service.
Kevin’s father, David Hancock, was a past recipient of this award.
Kevin will become the first vice chairman of the national organization in 2003 and will become the first lumber dealer from Maine to become chairman of the National Lumber Dealers Association. He was also acknowledged for his stewardship in the community as demonstrated by his involvement with Habitat for Humanity as director, the Bridgton Hospital Capital Campaign as co-chairman, Bridgton Academy as trustee and coach to youth sports in the Lake Region Area.
