It’s good to see Sen. Edward Kennedy not mince words about the war in Iraq. It is time someone in Congress stood up to the White House-Republican war propaganda machine.

Did you see the Republicans howl like they’d been caught with their hand in a cookie jar? Oh, the damage control and cover-up that is in the air on Capital Hill right now.

Can you imagine the Republicans running for cover at the criticism of Sen. Kennedy when they aren’t afraid of the bullets and bombs in Iraq?

Come to think of it, the Republicans aren’t in Iraq, are they? They’re safe at home while other American men and women are being killed for the cause of “weapons of mass destruction” cooked up by over-active imaginations.

So these brave Republicans aren’t only afraid of bullets and bombs, they’re afraid of criticism, of words, as well. I guess you could say they’re afraid of the truth. Kudos to Sen. Edward Kennedy.
