RUMFORD – Evelina M. Delisle, 95, died Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Rumford Hospital. A resident of the area since 1934, she made her home on Maple Street, Rumford.
She was born in Littleton, N.H. on Nov. 9, 1907, the daughter of Onesine and Marie Brouseau Drapeau, and had attended schools in Littleton, N.H.
She was a communicant of St Athanasius-St. John Church, and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She loved to knit, crochet, and had cared for many of her friends and relatives and was a “mother to everyone.”
She was married in Littleton, N.H. on Nov. 4, 1929, to the late Arthur J. Delisle, who died in Rumford on Aug. 10, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Bolduc of Rumford; six sons, John Delisle and his wife Jeannette of Battleground, Wash., Arthur Delisle Jr. and his wife Marge of Tacoma, Wash., Maurice Delisle and his wife Yvonne of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert Delisle and his wife Diane of Everett, Wash., William Delisle and his wife Sandra of Winthrop, Dennis Delisle of Marysville, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
