I can’t believe there is another town or city fighting over yellow ribbons.

Why can’t people understand that the ribbons are to support our friends, family and loved ones that are protecting their country. It’s not to support the war or President Bush.

I live in Auburn and when the ladies from New Auburn went around town and put the ribbons everywhere, I was proud to be a part of that town.

My brother is in Iraq. He has been there since February. He is not enjoying it, and he is missing a lot of things at home. But I know when he comes home he would love to have a warm welcome, which he will get from his family and friends. For him to see that his town or area towns were supporting him and all the other troops while he was there also would mean a lot.

So for those of you that are against these ribbons, I am disappointed that you can’t hang up a simple ribbon to thank our troops for what they have risked and what they have done for your country.

If it wasn’t for them, there could be a draft. With a draft, it could be a member of your family sent to war. Instead, they are home safe.
