FARMINGTON – Shirley Ames Buzzell, 55, of Groveton, N.H., formerly of Farmington, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, N.H.
She was born June 14, 1949, in Farmington, a daughter of Theodore “Ted” and Betty Stetson Ames.
She received her education in local schools and was married to the late John Buzzell.
She was employed in various restaurants throughout Maine and New Hampshire, and had also owned and operated a convenience/video store.
She was a member of the Farmington Emblem Club and the Union Baptist Church in Farmington Falls. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and reading.
Survivors include her son, Anthony Grimanis and his wife Nichole of Temple; her daughter, Kristina Buzzell of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Betty S. Ames of Farmington Falls; two brothers, George Ames and his wife Pearl of Winthrop, and Ed Ames of Wilton; two sisters, Helen Smith and her husband Stan of Kennesaw, Ga., and Louise Ames; two grandsons, Micheal and Dylan Grimanis of Temple; and a special friend, Michael Robinson of Groveton, N.H.
She was predeceased by her husband, John; and her father, Ted.
