PORTLAND – The University of Southern Maine’s Lifeline Center will offer a non-credit course on “Fundamentals of Worksite Wellness” starting Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The six-week training course is co-sponsored by the MeHealth Learning Resource Centers. It will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Falmouth campus of Maine Medical Center on Bucknam Road. Classes are designed for employers looking to expand or enhance their wellness programs or for those wishing to start a program.
Sessions will cover assessing, designing, implementing and evaluating a best practice work-site program. Dean Paterson, a local health promotions consultant, will teach the course. Guest speakers from area employers will also participate.
Fees are $275 for Southern Maine Wellness Council members, $295 for nonmembers. Wellness teams of two or more will receive a 10 percent discount. People can contact Tom Downing at 780-4879 or at [email protected] for a free brochure. Early registration is encouraged.
