BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Jenny Allen, a 2003 sport management graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, has been named the assistant sports information director at SUNY Brockport.

Allen was a member of the University of Massachusetts Sport Management Club and the Women in Sport Management Club. She created an extensive independent study during her last three semesters. She facilitated a “SportsmanshiPeace” program with community activist Woody Greene at South Hadley High School in South Hadley, Mass., and Chicopee High School and Chicopee Comprehensive School in Chicopee, Mass.

Allen was hired June 1 by Sports Information Director Eric McDowell and started employment on Aug. 11. In June Allen attended the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Sports Information Directors Association Workshop in Staten Island, N.Y.

She will pursue her masters in athletic adminstration during her two years in the position at Brockport. Allen is a native of Lewiston, Maine.

“Jenny’s enthusiasm, infectious personality and work ethic will serve our student-athletes and coaching staff very well here,” said McDowell. “She has tremendous potential in our field and we are excited to have her.”
