Applications/Work History/References will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 14.

Interviewing Skills from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 14.

Test of Adult Basic Education from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 6.

General Aptitude Test Battery from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 17.

Career Decision Making from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21.

Essentials of College Planning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30.

An Employment Enrichment, two-day certificate program, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28. This program gives an awareness of essential workplace skills for which local employers have been asking. Attendance is mandatory both days to obtain certificate.

A Job Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the CareerCenter. Job seekers are welcome to come meet local employers and see what they are offering.

There will also be a six-week training program held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays from Oct. 9 through Nov. 13 at the center for Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset counties. Participants must pre-register for these sessions by calling 778-3460 or toll free 1-800-322-5455 no later than Oct. 8. Graduation and certificate presentation will be held on Nov. 20 at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Farmington.

This workshop trains people to work with anyone who needs reading help. Some of the topics covered include what it’s like not to be able to read, various methods of teaching, reading, listing skills, learning differences and lesson planning. After completion of the workshop, tutors will be matched with students in their own area.
