1940 – 2003
FARMINGTON – P. Roger Ferland Sr., 63, a longtime resident of Main Street in Jay, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 30, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Born in Jay, June 21, 1940, the son of Pierre J. and Diane Carter Ferland, he was a 1960 graduate of Jay High School.
On Aug. 3, 1963 he married Patricia Allen at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He was employed in 1960 by International Paper Co. in Jay at the Otis and Androscoggin Mills in converting, retiring in 1996.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and was a member of the I.P. Quarter Century Club.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years of Jay; two daughters and their husbands, Shelly and Alan Davis of Jay and Wendy and Arthur Hentschel of Wilton; a son, P. Roger Ferland Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Livermore; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Alana Davis, Katie and Cassie Ferland and Nikolas Hentschel.
He was predeceased by a sister, Rita Legere; and a brother, Armand Ferland.
