LEWISTON – Norman St. Pierre has been elected to the Board of Directors of Androscoggin Bank. Headquartered in Lewiston, the bank has 13 branches serving southern and mid-coast Maine.

St. Pierre was on the board of Livermore Falls Trust Co. from 1988 through 1999, when it joined Androscoggin Bank. Bank President Steven A. Closson said, “Norm is a lifelong resident of the Jay-Livermore Falls area and has served those communities in a variety of civic capacities…. As we continue with strategic initiatives to enhance our presence and service levels within these communities, Norm’s participation as a member of the board will be invaluable.”

St. Pierre is president and owner of Ranor Inc., a statewide mechanical services contracting firm founded in Jay in 1972. Now with satellite offices in South Portland and Bangor, Ranor specializes in commercial plumbing and heating. Ranor employs over 120 people.

He also served as selectman for Jay from 1989 to 1991. In 1990, he was elected president of the Associated Builders and Contractors and also began serving a two-year term on the board for the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

St. Pierre has served as treasurer for area youth sports and the Community Emergency Services Ambulance Service. He also achieved the rank of fourth Degree with the Knights of Columbus. St. Pierre and his wife, Janice, live in Jay.

Mid-Maine hires

two, promotes one

BANGOR – Mid-Maine Communications has announced the addition of two people and the promotion of a third. Ian Brasslett has joined its Customer Service Center Team. As a customer service representative, he will be responsible for answering calls to Mid-Maine’s customer call center. Brasslett holds a bachelor of science degree in physics from the University of Maine and has brings a broad knowledge of telecommunications.

Jeff Johnson was recently hired as a CLEC field technician. Curry will be responsible for maintaining the operations of the company’s internal networks. He has more than 12 years of technical experience, most recently with Lucent Technologies. Johnson served in the Navy before joining Lucent.

Erik Bourget has been promoted to systems engineer. Bourget has been with Mid-Maine since early summer. His most recent capacity was as a web programmer.

Mid-Maine Communications has its corporate offices in Bangor. Mid Maine Communications is offering business customers access to state-of-the-art data services, such as digital subscriber line, point-to-point voice/data transport and frame relay service. Mid-Maine is also the local telephone company for 26 communities surrounding Bangor, an Internet service provider for both residential and business customers, and a long distance provider.
