DIXFIELD – The descendants of James C. and Mary Ellen Crawford Lloyd gathered for their annual family reunion at the Mountain View Campground recently. A potluck luncheon was served and numerous craft items, donated by family members, were raffled off for the treasury. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was William Morse Sr. who donated it back to the treasury.
There were 50 in attendance, traveling from various areas around the state and from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Coming the furthest were Pattie and Bernie Chiasson of Old Saybrook, Conn.
The oldest member present was William Morse Sr., 79, of Mexico, and the youngest was Katie Morse, 1, daughter of Greg and Peggy Morse of Dixfield.
It was voted to continue having reunions on Saturdays at the campground. Members were reminded to submit favorite recipes for the family cookbook. One death and fourth births were recorded. A prayer was said by Jo-Ann Lloyd in memory of Mary Ellen Cheetham of Brunswick. Susan Pike will continue to be secretary for the event and Donna Hanson and Cindy Archibald will be treasurer. The next reunion will be on Saturday, Aug. 7.
