JAY – The Daughters of Isabella at St. Rose of Lima Circle 677 held installation of officers to serve for a term of two years.
Daughters of Isabella’s Maine State Regent Irene Fagan of Sanford was present as installing officer.
The opening prayer was given by the circle chaplain, the Rev. Richard Senghas. Rita Crowley served as Master of Ceremonies. Betty Plaisted served as marshal and Louise Parker as musician.
Officers installed include regent, Rosemary Poulson; vice regent, Jacqueline Castonguay; past regent, Laureanne Castonguay; treasurer, Louise Chabot; financial secretary, Annette Melanson; recording secretary, Margaret Jacques; scribe, Georgia Hersey.
Also, first auditor, Pauline Breton; second auditor, Jeannine Williams; third auditor, Shirley Couture; chancellor, Elaine Castonguay; custodian, Irene Castonguay; banner bearer, Alice Castonguay; monitor, Maryette Castonguay; first guide, Judy Pottle; second guide, Laurie Gagnepain; inner guard, Beatrice Moreau; outer guard, Hope Beverly Fournier; musician, Louise Parker.
Fagan’s message was based on the cirlce’s motto, “Unity, Charity and Friendship.” She thanked all outgoing officers for their services and thanked all the newly elected officers for serving and for those who continue to serve. She also thanked outgoing regent, Laureanne Castonguay, for the years she was regent and for her dedication to the circle.
A social supper was held before installing officers. The supper was chaired by Jeannine Wilkins and Laurie Gagnepain. Also serving were Laurette Poulin, Helen Hobbs, Evelyn Chabot, Eva Mae Deschaney, Jerry Richard, Bertha Flagg, Anna Lake, Jancie St. Pierre, Yvone DeMillo, Pauline Boivin and Beatrice Moreau.
The cake was made by Laurie Gagnepain. Door prizes were won by Eleanor Mitchell and Laurette Poulin.
The next circle meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. Rose Hall. There will be a workshop on Nov. 1 at Brunswick.
