POLAND – Kevin Young and Josh Pomerleau each scored a pair of goals to lead Poland to a 6-2 victory over Lake Region in WMC soccer action Friday.
Brendon Blake scored the eventual game-winner from 18 yards out. Eric Pipper added a second-half goal for the Knights (4-6).
The Lakers received a pair of first-half goals from Colby Maurice and Jonathan Marstaller.
Max Levine needed only four saves to register the win.
Richmond 2, Buckfield 1
BUCKFIELD – Greg Gibbs drilled a pass from Zach Brown in the second half to lift Richmond to a 2-1 win over Buckfield in boy’s EWC soccer action Friday afternoon.
Brown chippped in with the Bobcats (6-3-1) first goal in the first half to accounting for Richmonds fianl score.
Mark Smith converted a feed from Chris Daily for the Bucks (4-6) to avoid the shutout.
Lewiston 4, Gardiner 0
GARDINER – Corey Worthington tallied a goal and assist to lead Lewiston to a 4-0 win over Gardiner in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.
The Blue Devils’ (5-2-2) first goal came when the Tiger goalie, Jake Coughlin, couldn’t hold on to the save, and it fell to the foot of Danny LaRoche. LaRoche fed Hamdi Naji,
who found the back of the net and Lewiston never looked back.
Jon Fournier and Nate Deschaine contributed to the Blue Devil offense with a goal apiece.
Coughlin made 16 saves in net for the Tigers (1-7-1), while Eric Grenier stopped 11 for the Blue Devils.
Lisbon 6, Dirigo 1
LISBON – Jarrod Church and Matt Smith tallied two goals each to pace Lisbon to a 6-1 victory over Dirigo in a MVC boys’ soccer matchup.
Jon Charette and Brandon Casper notched single goals for the Greyhounds (4-5) to complete the scoring. Mike Wilkins turned away five shots in net. After a 0-4 start, Lisbon has now won four of their last five games.
Matt Chamberlin tallied the lone goal for the Cougars (1-6-2), while Trevis Knapp made 11 saves.
