1941 – 2003

AUBURN – Mr. Edward R. Nadeau, 62, of 116 Turkey Lane, died suddenly early Saturday morning, Oct. 4, at his home.

He was born in Lewiston July 3, 1941, a son of Alfred and Jeanne Nadeau. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong Auburn resident. On June 30, 1962, he married the former Jeannette Lemieux.

He first worked several years in local shoe shops prior to spending 20 years working for L.L. Bean in Freeport. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and had served 12 years in the Army Reserves. Among his favorite enjoyments were spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, snowmobiling and playing horseshoes.

He also spent several years coaching in the Lewiston FLY Football League and in the Auburn Suburban Little League baseball program. He was very much a handyman at everything and never hesitated to help out family and friends whose things needed fixing.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Jeannette of Auburn; a daughter, Rose Marie Goulette and husband, Vinnie, of Auburn; a son, Ron Nadeau and wife, Tina, of Auburn; 4 grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Goulette and Kayla and Cam Nadeau; one sister, Joline McBrayer and husband, Jim, of W.V.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Robby Nadeau in 1986.
