NEWTON, Mass.- The University of Maine at Farmington’s Amanda Nimon scored the winning goal with just under five minutes left in the first half, lifting UMF to a 3-0 field hockey shutout over Lasell College on Saturday afternoon.

Mary Sinclair and Kristy Veazie confirmed the win with an insurance goal apiece.

Bowdoin 2, Tufts 1

MEDFORD Mass. – Marissa O’Neil and Britney Carr scored to boost Bowdoin past Tufts, 2-1, in a NESCAC men’s soccer encounter.

Leo Napolitano tallied for Tufts.

Williams 6, Bates 0

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Jaye Gregory scored a pair of goals to lead Williams to a 6-0 victory over Bates. Sarah Judice stopped eight shots for the Bobcats (1-7).

MEDFORD, Mass – Bowdoin netted three goals on six shots as three different players tallied a goal to lead the Polar Bears (5-1-2, 2-1-2) to a 3-0 NESCAC men’s soccer win over host Tufts University Saturday afternoon. John Hollis scored for Bowdoin at 31:15 of the first half. Andrew Russo and Thomas Bresnehan added goals.

Williams 3, Bates 1

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Khari Stephenson scored on a penalty kick to launch Williams to a 3-1 win over Bates.

Early in the second half, David Shear tied the game for Bates on an assist from Kyle Rushton. Josh Bolton put the Ephs in front less than two minutes later when he redirected senior Ryan Olsen’s corner kick into the net.

Women’s soccer

Husson 3, Becker 0

BANGOR – Deidra Ham scored in the second minute to lead Husson (6-3, 4-0) past Becker College 3-0 in women’s soccer. Kristin Pelletier added a goal for the Braves.

Bowdoin 1, Tufts 0

MEDFORD, Mass – Cedar Goldman scored six minutes into the game as Bowdoin dropped Tufts 1-0. Anna Sharpell needed four saves to register the shutout victory for the Polar Bears (6-2, 3-2).

Williams 3, Bates 1

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Sarah Krygowski scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead Williams to a 3-1 win over previously undefeated Bates.

Brittany Esty tallied the game-winner. The Bobcats (4-1-2) scored their only goal when Erin Foye set up Jenna Benson.

Utica 36, Husson 0

UTICA, N.Y. – Dave Hogan scored the opening touchdowns of the first and second halves to push away Husson and lay the foundation for Utica’s 36-0 football win. Hogan carried the ball 22 times for 152 yards as Utica (1-4) dominated the offense with 311 rushing yards to the Braves’ 60 yards. Josh Nowlin led the Braves (0-4) with 84 yards. Lee St. Hilaire completed 5-of-19 passes for 42 yards.
