1917 – 2003

LEWISTON – Rosaire J. “Rosey” Gagnon, 86, of 200 Stetson Rd., Auburn, died Friday evening, Oct. 3, 2003 at Central Maine Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 1, 1917, the son of Auguste and Marie (Jacob) Gagnon and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was educated in Lewiston schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

He married the former Blanche B. Lauze on Nov. 11, 1948 and she died on March 9, 2002.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Litchfield Senior Citizens and the American Legion Post #22 of Lewiston.

He took great joy in his great-granddaughter, Georgia Rose Gagnon, and also was very proud of the fact that his grandson, Chad, is going to be commissioned as an officer in the Army.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Gagnon of Bath and Gerard Gagnon and his wife, Diane, of Poland; two grandchildren, Chad Gagnon of S.D. and Christie Lynn Ouellette and her husband, Ken, of Lewiston; three sisters, Andrea Poirier and Juliette Gagnon both of Lewiston and Florence Verville and her husband, Roger, of Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Rafuse-Gardner of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
