NAPLES – Drivers using Route 302 and Route 11 in Naples will face road work on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 8 and 9, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.

“We’re going to be installing detection loops in the pavement as part of a new, automated traffic data collection station,” said Debbie Morgan of the department’s Traffic Engineering Section.

To install the loops, one lane of traffic will be closed while the other lane will carry alternating one-way traffic, Morgan said. The loops will be installed on each route, near their intersection. Data from the loops will be used for planning purposes, according to the department.
