1935 – 2003
NORWAY – William E. “Bill” Allen, 67, of Norway died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Mechanic Falls on Oct. 6, 1935, the son of Earland and Thelma Holt Allen. He was a graduate of Norway High School. Right after high school, he started working for C.B. Cummings & Sons and stayed for 37 years before retiring.
He married Annette M. Gagnon in 1994. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who had a doe permit for this year and was looking forward to going.
He is survived by his wife, Annette of Norway; a daughter, Holly Allen and her companion, Roger Coffin, of Norway; a son, Jonathan Allen of South Paris; two grandsons, Lance Whittier and his wife, Missy, of Oxford and Lucas William Allen of Norway; two sisters, Elaine Curtis and her husband, George, of Oxford and Linda Cutter and her husband, Jeff, of Casco; a brother, Paul C. Allen and his wife, Theresa, of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, William J. “Billy” Allen; a brother, Richard Allen; and two sisters, Elizabeth Croteau and Judith Ann Allen.
