1905 – 2003
NORWAY – Leslie H. Gammon, 97, of Norway, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Norway on Dec. 21, 1905, the son of Edwin S. and Hattie Everett Gammon. He attended Norway schools and had been employed at a local shoe shop for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows for 78 years and the Knights of Pythias for over 50 years, holding offices in both groups. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching and walking.
He is survived by three children, Emery and his wife, Heide, of Oxford, Ellery and his wife, Priscilla, of Waterford and Audrey Lawson and her husband, Michael, of Belfast; eight grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wives, Helena Wentworth and Camilla Nevers.
