MECHANIC FALLS – Stella E. Bainbridge, 78, of Sebring, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 6 at her daughter’s home.

She was born in Sackville, N.B. on July 10, 1925, the daughter of Arthur W. and Lena E. Hicks Smith. She graduated from schools in Sackville. She had been an office manager and a paper carrier in Fla. for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sebring, Fla.

She married Francis J. Bainbridge on Dec. 12, 1944. He died Aug. 10, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Frances Perreault and her husband, David, of Mechanic Falls; three sons, Richard D. and his wife, Marcy, of Salem, N.H., Frank of Deltona, Fla. and Jeffrey and his wife, Theresa, of Sebring, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Austin Smith.
