FARMINGTON – A community informational meeting on end-of-life care and being a hospice volunteer will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in the Foster Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The program is sponsored by Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

The meeting will include a brief discussion of the hospice philosophy, end-of-life issues, the needs of terminally ill patients and their families and the role of a hospice volunteer.

In response to increased needs, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice will begin a training course on Nov. 1 in Farmington for individuals interested in becoming hospice volunteers. The agency has volunteer needs throughout Franklin County, as well as Oxford and Androscoggin counties, for patients at home and in long-term care facilities.

Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Carolyn Balsam, AHCH hospice volunteer, 778-2506, or Nancy Greene, volunteer coordinator, at 1-800-482-7412.
