PORTLAND – The Maine International Trade Center is offering a seminar for Maine businesses who are new to international trade and want to avoid the common pitfalls of inexperienced exporters. The seminar, entitled “Export Logistics and Documentation” will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, in Lewiston.
Topics covered in the seminar include necessary documentation, such as bills of lading, export declarations and certificates of origin, insuring freight against loss or damage, air and ocean freight options and export pricing. The seminar features Rick Bridges from Roanoke Trade Services, Shashi Kumar from the Maine Maritime Academy and Joseph Wyson and Harvey Waite from Oceanair, Inc.
This one-day seminar is part of the International Program Series sponsored by Lee Auto Malls and will be held at Geiger on Mount Hope Avenue in Lewiston.
