NORWAY – Door prizes, free pizza and windshield repair discounts are some of the incentives for attending this Sunday’s 5th annual Oxford Hills Fire Prevention Open House.

The exhibits and demonstrations will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Norway Fire Station on Beal Street.

Weather permitting, LifeFlight of Maine will have a helicopter on scene for up-close viewing. Pizza Hut is offering free pizza at noon and the department will supply free hot dogs and chips, with donations welcome.

Tours will be held of the Norway Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Trailer, and fire vehicles and other equipment will be on display. Demonstrations will be held to show just how extensive is the equipment and training firefighters must use to fight fires.

A grand door prize furnished by Western Auto of Norway will be drawn at 2 p.m. Portland Glass is also offering to donate $10 of every windshield repair job participants have done to the Oxford Hills Fire Prevention Association.

The event is sponsored by the eight towns of the Oxford Hills, all members of the Western Maine Firemen’s Association.
