I am writing to recognize the accomplishments of Lewiston School Committee member John Butler.
In the last two years, John Butler has made lasting contributions to the work of the Lewiston School Committee and the children and families of Lewiston. John has been a valued expert in the area of student achievement and truancy issues. He has been a tireless advocate on behalf of children with special needs.
John’s commitment to the quality of education will be missed on the school committee, but I look forward to his election to the Ward 1 Lewiston City Council seat. I am sure John will bring to the council a depth of knowledge that will benefit the city as a whole.
Ward 1 is fortunate to have a quality leader in John Butler. The school committee’s loss will be the council’s gain.
