WOOLWICH – Maine mystery writer Gerry Boyle will weave tales of the encounters of Jack McMorrow when he speaks at the fall luncheon of the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary, Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Taste of Maine Restaurant, Route 1. The social hour will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a harvest buffet luncheon at noon.

Boyle, whose 18-year career as an editor, reporter and columnist for the Central Maine Morning Sentinel in Waterville, gave him some ideas for his main character McMorrow, will speak on “The Mystery Novel: An Inside View.” McMorrow is the quirky central guy in Boyle’s mystery novels.

“Pretty Dead” (Berkley Prime Crime) is Boyle’s latest novel, to be published in December, and tells the story of a Boston couple with a house on the Maine coast, and the mystery of the murder of an associate found buried in a shallow grave in Maine. Due for publication in June 2004 is “Home Body.” For more information visit Boyle’s Web site at www.gerryboyle.com.

The public is invited to hear Boyle. The cost, including lunch, is $16 for Auxiliary members and $19 for non-members. Checks may be mailed by Tuesday, Oct. 14, to the MCH Auxiliary, 123 Medical Center Drive, Brunswick, ME 04011 or may be taken to the Volunteer Services Suite at MCH.
