1903 – 2003

LEWISTON – Rose E. Cote, 99, formerly of Mechanic Falls and Lewiston died early Monday morning Oct. 13, at Marshwood Health Care Facility following a short illness.

She was born in Sixteen Island Lake, Canada on Dec. 22, 1903, the daughter of Edouard and Veronique (Sarrasin) Gagne.

She was the widow of Armand Cote who died in 1956. Prior to her retirement in 1969 she had worked for many years at the Lown Shoe Company.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Clukey of Mechanic Falls, Mrs. Marvin (Connie) Crump of Monmouth, Mrs. Edgar (Evelyn) DeBlois of Greene and Mrs. Normand (Elaine) Bosse of Litchfield; three sons, Armand E. and his wife, Madeleine Cote, of Sabattus, Donald M. Cote and his companion, Gabriel Ferland, both of Sabattus and Francis P. Cote and his wife, Laurie, of Minot; one sister, Lucille Samson of Lewiston; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Felix Cote who died in 1968; and a grandson, Brian Cote who died in 1990.
