OTISFIELD – Town Clerk, Treasurer and Tax Collector Anne Pastore informed selectmen Wednesday night she will run for office again in March.

She is leaving to open a gifts and antiques store in Norway.

In a letter to the board, Pastore invited selectmen to visit her new business, The Vintage Pantry on Fair Street in Norway. It is opening Dec. 1, and will offer four rooms of antiques, vintage items and gifts. The store will also feature locally made crafts, kitchenware, dishes, reproductions, wrought iron furniture, vintage purses and pillows. “It’s got a delightful mix of the old and the new,” Pastore said.

Deputy Clerk Lisa Connelly plans to stay on for a few months to help train the new clerk, Pastore said.

“It is with somewhat of a heavy heart that I leave here, I have so enjoyed my five years in this position,” Pastore wrote in the letter to the board. “I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your kindness and friendship that you have shown me.”

The board said it appreciated the advanced notice Pastore gave the community to attract residents to run for the elected town clerk, treasurer and tax collector positions. In recent years, one person has been elected for the three seats. Elections are held during the annual town meeting on the first Saturday in March.
