PARIS – Six former students at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School were selected as Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board.

Class of 2003 graduate Sasha Joseph was the top scorer of the six, as he qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on a 5-point scale on eight or more of the exams.

Nicole Dunham and Miranda Edwards qualified for the Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of 3.5 on all AP exams.

Jacob Folz, Rebecca Harbage and Shelby Stevens qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning a 3.25 average on their exams. Students took the exams in May.

The College Board’s AP Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school and receive college credit for successful performance on the AP exams.

Almost 15 percent of the more than 1 million high school students in more than 14,000 secondary schools worldwide were recognized as an AP scholar.
