1918 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Elaine Kaduson, 85, of Farmington, formerly of Long Island, N.Y., died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, Farmington.

A devoted wife, mother and friend to many, she will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.

She was born March 13, 1918, in New York City, a daughter of Harry and Tillie (Sandler) Rodman. She was a graduate of New York City Schools: Washington Irving High School, Class of 1935; the New York School of Fine and Applied Art, 1938; The Delehanty Institute, Women’s Division, 1943. She majored in Industrial Arts, Costume Design and Illustration and Advanced Technical Drafting.

Before becoming a full-time homemaker, she was employed by Gimbels Department Store as a fashion advertising illustrator. She was also a free-lance animation artist for Disney Studios and was an artist for military training films during WWII. She married Jack Kaduson of Bronx, N.Y. in 1942.

Her interests included art, literature, the theaer, gardening, sewing, antiques, jewelry design, and talking with people. Her countless talents enhanced the lives of family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynne Kaduson of N.Y. and Karen Calloway and her husband, John, of Avon; sister, Shirlie Davis; first cousin, Sandy Grapel and four beloved nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Jack Kaduson; a brother, Ira Rodman; niece, Suzie Rodman; brother-in-law, Bernard Davis; and nephew, Joel Davis.
