1913 – 2003

LEWISTON – Germaine R. Dixon, 89, a resident of 125 College St., Lewiston, died late Saturday evening at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 8, 1913, the daughter of Arthur and Clotilde (Dube) Dumais Sr. She attended local schools and had been employed 29 years at the Pepperell Mill until its closure.

She married Wallace Dixon in 1946. Following retirement, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Mrs. Dixon was a life long member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, the Ladies of St. Ann, Jacques Cartier Club, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.

Survivors include her sister, Jeannette Dumais of Lewiston; three sisters-in-laws, Natalie Dunlap of Lewiston, Helen Laliberte of Lewiston, and Carmen Dixon of Auburn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace, who died March 6, 2000; three brothers, Arthur Dumais Jr., Alcide Dumais, M.D. and Roland Dumais; two sisters, Rose Bernard and Lucia Paul.
