AUBURN – Here we go again.

Cable viewers in the Twin Cities area Thursday night found themselves without their local channels in the early part of Thursday evening.

The snafu did not interrupt the World Series as it did earlier in the month, but viewers trying to tune in to their local news stations were out of luck.

One Auburn woman said her night was ruined because she missed the news and then a string of game shows. People tuning in to Jeopardy or the Wheel of Fortune were left with scrambled images on their television screens.

Three stations, WMTW, WSCH and WMTW appeared to be the only channels affected by the problem.

The outage began at about 5:30 p.m. Cable users in the Twin Cities found a green screen or scrambled images on those three channels.

In Sabattus, some cable subscribers lost the same three stations plus some additional local channels.

Representatives at Adelphia could not be reached for an explanation about the problem.

Earlier this month, irate cable users from around the region flooded Adelphia’s phone lines when they were unable to pick up the Boston Red Sox opening playoff game with the New York Yankees.

Adelphia representatives later explained that they were unable to pick up a feed out of Portland which would have allowed viewers to watch the came on FOX.

The current problem was fixed by 8 p.m. It was unclear how many Adelphia customers were affected by the outage.
