LEWISTON- Katie Janson scored on a scramble in front of the Bates net just 2:27 into overtime to lead the Babson field hockey team to a 3-2 win over Bates in a non-league game Thursday evening.

The Beavers took an early 1-0 lead when Andrea Tufts scored on a rebound just over three minutes into the game.

Bates ended up bouncing back, however, scoring a pair of goals on penalty corners to tkae a 2-1 lead. Sarah Overmyer tied the game with her eighth goal of the season, blasting her shot into the left side of the net. Overmyer assisted on the second goal, setting up Lori Jessup for her fifth goal of the season.

Babson held a 15-12 shot advantage in overtime.
