AUBURN – Western Maine Transportation Services invites the public to an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. The agency has relocated to 65 Washington St.

The private, nonprofit corporation is designated by the Maine Department of Transportation as a regional transit corporation. Its only business since the agency was founded in 1976 is public transportation. WMTS serves Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.

Its mission is to provide non-emergency transportation services to the population of its service area, with special emphasis for the low-income, elderly and disabled by providing semi-fixed route, fixed route, demand response and charter services.

WMTS contracts with the Lewiston-Auburn Transit Committee to operate the City Link bus service.
