DETROIT (AP) – Goaltender Curtis Joseph was recalled from the minors Monday by the Red Wings.

Joseph made a rehabilitation start Friday for Grand Rapids of the AHL. He had 20 saves in his first minor league hockey game in eight seasons.

He had surgery Aug. 19 to remove bone chips from his right ankle. The Wings are looking to trade Joseph since six-time Vezina Trophy winner Dominik Hasek ended his one-year retirement. Joseph, who carries an $8 million salary, is in his 15th NHL season.

The Wings on Monday also recalled forward Jiri Hudler from Grand Rapids. Hudler appeared in three games last weekend, recording two goals and two assists.
