1917 – 2003

LEWISTON – Alberie V. Thibodeau, 85 of 35 Franklin St., died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 28, at d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 24, 1917, in St. Francis, the son of Fred and Cisarie Thibodeau. He graduated from Lewiston High School and from Professor Robert’s School of Accounting. He served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a Link Trainer flight instructor. On May 5, 1943 he married Yvonne Royer in Auburn. He worked in local shoe shops and was very active in St. Louis Parish activities. He was Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters on Auburn/ Lewiston and received the Legion of Honor Third Degree in 1985, the order’s highest honor. He was also named Forester of the Year in 1992. “Al” enjoyed reading, cribbage and visiting the Maine coast with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Lewiston; three daughters, Sister Frances Mary of Chicago, Lorraine and her husband Ron Fournier of Lewiston and Janine Thibodeau of Auburn; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Raymond.
