LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Salvation Army will accept applications for holiday assistance with toys and meals for families in Lewiston and Auburn.

Families are encouraged to apply at the Christmas distribution center, 149 Lisbon St. (former New England Furniture store) on the following dates:

Nov. 17 through 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Dec. 1 through 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Dec. 8 through 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Salvation Army requests that applicants bring photo IDs, Social Security cards for each family member and proof of income and expenses in the home. Due to limited funds, only children living with custodial parent or legal guardian are eligible for the Christmas gift program.
