FARMINGTON – Would you like a warm cuddly animal to keep you company but feel you do not have the time for a cat or dog? The Franklin County Animal Shelter has another option. The shelter have two lop-eared bunnies and one guinea pig. All three came to the shelter as private surrenders.

One of the bunnies has a white and gray coloring and is called Cricket. He is about 3 years old and does well with other animals. The other bunny, Peter Rabbit, is brown and has black tipped fur. He is about 4. They are litter-box trained, so cleaning their cages is not a chore.

The guinea pig, Tribble, is the friendliest little guy. He almost makes a purr sound as he is held. All three are well hand trained. The love to be picked up and held.

The shelter will sponsor the annual auction and raffle from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, in Room C-131, Roberts Learning Center, University of Maine at Farmington. There will be more than 200 items as well as free food and a door prize. Alpha Phi Omega members are helping with the auction. For more information, call 778-2638.
