PARIS – Marilyn Hammond will be the speaker at the 10 a.m. service of the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, Sunday, Nov. 2.
The sermon is titled, “The Promise of November.” Music will be by organist Forest Perkins and will include hymns and incidental music on the seasonal theme of fall.
Sunday School will be in session and child care is provided. Brunch will follow in Good Cheer Hall.

Blood drive
FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Academy and the American Red Cross are teaming up to hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Fryeburg Academy Gibson Gym. For more information, call 1-800-482-0743.
Extension program
FRYEBURG – Members of Fryeburg Homemakers Extension will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the American Legion Hall on Bradley Street. Coffee and social time will be at 9 a.m. followed by the meeting at 9:30. Jane Walton and Priscilla Barton will present a program on decorative boxes. Bring boxes, wallpaper borders, border paste, scissors, ruler and brushes for paste. There will be a potluck luncheon served by hostesses Frances Coombs, Murial Tully and Jaunita Hartnet. Coffee and dessert will be served.
Holiday fair
FRYEBURG – The Seton Society of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will hold a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the church. There will be Christmas items, handknit goodies, raffle table, attic treasures, books, jewelry and baked goods. Luncheon will be served.
