Nov. 1 open house

MEXICO – The River Valley Wellness Center will hold a family open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Mexico Recreation Center. Children’s games, face painting, bake sale, Chinese raffle, attic treasures and crafts. Proceeds to benefit the Wellness Center’s new equipment fund. For more information, phone 364-7328.

‘Stash of Cash’

RUMFORD – Time is running out to purchase a Stash of Cash ticket for a chance at $100 a day during the month of November, says the River Valley Chamber of Commerce. One ticket will be drawn each day beginning Saturday, Nov. 1. Proceeds will benefit the Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office or at the following businesses; State Farm Insurance, Erik Designs, All That Jazz, Mexico Pet & Agway, Port to Port, Dan’s Automotive, Hannaford, Sam’s, Paradise Day Spa, Sun Journal and the Information Center.

Logging course

BETHEL – Registrations are continuing to come in for the Historical Society’s fall course, “Wood and Woods: Logging and Landscape in Northern New England.” Classes will be Nov. 4, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1. They will be held at the Society’s Regional History Center. Benefit craft fair

RUMFORD – A holiday craft and food fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Muskie Building community room, 20 Congress St. This will benefit the Community Concepts’ adult day service program. The fair will include baked goods, hot cider, hot cocoa, crafts, jewelry, art, Christmas ornaments and a raffle.
