FARMINGTON – Set the alarm clocks for early Saturday morning. It’s bargain hunting season.

It’s that time again when downtown businesses offer discounts to early risers.

And for real early birds, Quad M’s Cabin Restaurant, about 2.5 miles out of downtown on Route 4, is having a hunter’s breakfast beginning at 4 a.m. Saturday also marks the start of Maine’s firearms deer season.

For those who feel like sleeping in, some businesses are offering good deals throughout the day.

Saturday promises to be packed full of events to kick off the holiday shopping season.

If it’s ski or snowboard equipment you’re looking for, Farmington Ski Club is holding its 21st annual winter equipment sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mount Blue High School.

The Calico Patch on Broadway is celebrating its new expansion during the early bird sale. Stop by anytime from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. to see the new space and products.

And once again this year, Narrow Gauge Cinemas is offering its popular special movie ticket packages at Mickey’s Hallmark Shop, which is also offering sales.

If you wear “jammies” to Mickey’s expect 5 percent more off your purchase between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Renys and K & J Apparel and Footwear along with other businesses are scheduled to offer early bird discounts.
