Bowering honored

FARMINGTON – Detective Marc Bowering has been selected as the Farmington Police Department’s Employee of the Quarter for the summer of 2003. Police Chief Richard E. Caton III, said Bowering was chosen for his work as the department’s investigator and for his community policing work.

Two cases this summer were resolved as a result of his efforts, Caton said. The first was the Osborne case. His work and the assistance of several agencies brought a quick law enforcement resolution to this case, Caton said.

The second case was a fire bomb that was thrown through a window of a residence. The arrest of the alleged perpetrator clearly made the community and the victim’s family feel more secure, Caton said.

Last summer, Bowering and his father organized a softball game to raise money for the Special Olympics program.
